About

Hi, I’m Centaine!
A knitter for more than 15 years and a journalist for more than 10, I started After This Row to document my development in the fibre arts during the COVID-19 pandemic, when my mental health demanded a hobby, and a stint of unemployment left me with extra time on my hands to explore the craft further than ever before.
The name of the blog is based on my favourite catchphrase, which I declare every night before bed.
Blog

Storm Sweater: a Flurry of Texture
This was supposed to be my brain-break sweater, but it broke my brain instead.
Dark Academia: a Study in Fair Isle
Having finished two of the most complex sweaters I’ve ever made back-to-back, I feel like I could fight a god and win.
Gifts for Knitters: A Last-Minute Guide
Christmas is two weeks away, it’s practically here.
A Stitch in Time: Knitting from the 1960s
The 1960s were an iconic era for fashion, social change, and counterculture.
My weekend with The Rebels
Last weekend was steeped in friendship, laughter, creativity, and immaculate vibes in Bittern Lake, Alberta at the Rebel Hearts crafting retreat.
